#226 Coaching to Deepen All Aspects of Self-understanding

We have started learning from the comments of my private coaching clients since the last issue. This time I would like to focus on the importance of deepening all aspects of self-understanding.

First of all, I would like to share my own experience with self-understanding.

Before I started learning coaching, I thought I had a good understanding of myself.

However, there were many things about myself that I did not understand, which caught me off guard.

It was clear that I hadn't really dug deep into the subconscious layers of my psyche.

After becoming a coach, I am keenly aware that there are parts of myself that can be understood through self-coaching, and parts that cannot because we just have a blindspot.

I think the most important reason for using a coach is that an objective point of view comes in.

I think it also makes a difference in the speed of decision making and action.

In this case, the client was able to make a decision and take action by deepening her self-understanding.

“I was able to deepen my self-understanding, and through that self-understanding, I was able to decide what to do now, which was a great achievement. This is a decision I could not have reached on my own." - A.I. (3 individual coaching)

Even if you are able to plan and make decisions on your own, you still need a "support team" to help you get there.

It is you who will make the final decision and take action after you are satisfied with your decision.

I believe that one of the roles of a coach is to gently support the client and create opportunities for them.

How well do you understand yourself objectively?

If any part of you responds to this question, I encourage you to deepen your self-understanding through a combination of self-coaching and coaching.

I encourage you to take even a single step in the direction you want to go, sometimes with the support of a "support team" to help you.

I hope that this week brings even one more smile to your faces!
