When You Need to Make Moves

When you’re trying to move things on an organizational level, or needing the cooperation of many people, how do you go about it?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be at the workplace, but when you need others to cooperate or agree with you on something, what are some things that you focus on?

I’ve had an opportunity to think about this recently and I wanted to share about that today.

1. Create your cheerleading team

It doesn’t matter if it’s just one person in the beginning - making your own cheerleading team is an important step to create an environment that is supportive to yourself and your emotional and mental well-being.

2. Make your expectations clear: why you need the help

The other person, most of the time, don’t really know what to do if those expectations aren’t cleared laid out for them. By specifying and clarifying everything, the other party is able to put it into action more smoothly.

3. Communication and observation

Being able to communicate clearly and positively is obviously important, but being able to observe on a day-to-day basis is also as important. That can really inform you in how to communicate to them or approach them.

4. Find the key person

If you’re dealing with a whole team or needing to have multiple people to act on something, it’s necessary to understand who the key person is that you need to be in closest touch with.

I believe all of these apply to personal situations as well.

Being able to communicate clearly to others, and also being interested in them, and being able to discern in a good way.

It’s gotten really cold in Japan as December started.

It’s a busy time of year, so I hope that you’re taking care of yourself!

Wishing you a beautiful day!
