#223 A Letter to Myself a Year From Now

I was browsing the Internet the other day and stumbled upon a cafe with an interesting concept: you can write a letter to your (and/or your loved ones’) future self. It was a good opportunity because it was the New Year. I wrote two letters, one to myself and the other to the people in my life.

In this day and age of the Internet, it is nice to handwrite a letter, and the time I spent concentrating on writing my thoughts for about an hour was a very valuable experience.

The first letter was a message to myself one year from now, with my current thoughts and feelings.

I am looking forward to seeing how I will feel when I receive it a year from now.

The second message was for the people who have been a part of my life.

I could see the faces of my family, friends, and coaching clients and others.

I wrote both of them by hand, and they were filled in within 10 minutes.

It was very interesting that there was no need to rewrite anything.

Finally, we melted the wax for the envelopes, sealed them.

I chose the color of the wax myself, and as I slowly melted it, I sent a message for one year from now.

The letter was a collection of gratitude, wishes, and what I was feeling at the moment.

I had a relaxing cup of coffee after writing.

I hope to be able to share them with you in some form one year from now.

I will continue to do my best for corporate side, and my own human resource development and coaching work.

A week into January and many us here in Japan will be fully back to work after the New Year’s holiday.

Let's enjoy 2024 together!

I wish you all a week that brings more smiles to your face!
