#209 What is my future?
This is the fourth keyword that has come up recently in my mind! This time it is "my future."
I am back in Singapore, the place where my management career started.
This time it was a short three-night stay.
I found myself lost at first, in terms of schedule and cost. Even if I could manage the schedule, the high cost due to exchange rate fluctuations and soaring prices definitely made me uneasy. By the way, 1 Singapore dollar was 70 yen 20 years ago when I lived there, and it is about 108 yen now. (!!)
However, I focused on adding value for myself and connecting to the future, outside of simple financial values.
I asked myself: What is the hidden value of this trip? What can this trip add to my future?
And the answer came quickly. I decided to return to the starting point of my management career at this point in time, experience it in a new way, and connect it to the future. What can I offer in the future based on this experience I can have now?
Of course, it is not only about work. How can I connect this to my personal life and overall happiness?
This time, I was able to see my former colleagues, hobby friends, and local friends, and was exposed to a variety of their “futures” and life journeys. By meeting people with different perspectives and at different stages of life, I was given the opportunity to think about my own future vision and life journey. I really appreciate that they took time out of their busy schedules to make time for me.
This is the part that I feel adds value more than anything else, and it is also connected to my recent key phrase… What is my future?
I still have some time before my flight tonight, so I will make time to reflect again. So, I'll leave the conclusion for the next blog entry.
What is your “future" as you think of it?
How do you want to connect with it by looking back on your Journey so far in your life right now?
A new month has started, and I would like to declare my commitment to firmly connect to my future vision.
I wish you all a week with as many smiles as possible!
